Duration: 20 min
The aim of this work was to reveal the origin of technology and internet: the soil. I was exploring with a macbook pro computer, which I see as a kind of relic of today in my own environment. I was testing it’s weight and performative potential as a material object without turning it on, because in fact the computer was broken. The title Crystal Case refers to a broken gadget with a shattered glass, as well as to minerals in the soil which are used in producing these devices. Who are the people mining the minerals, and in what conditions? What does the device turn into after it’s breakdown?
